Peach's Cobrat Peril

Request Peril Sketch...Pencil & Paper

While wandering into a pyramid in world 2-3, Peach happens upon a very ornate room, but doesn't notice she is being watched...BY COBRATS!!! A long one coils her tightly so she can't move while the others move in...what will she do???

This was a request from Ocarina2006 from quite a while ago...hopefully the wait was worth it. The original idea was to have a different character coiled by a snake or the like, but of course I had to have a "familiar" character and a scenario . Also, the call for a bikini was pulled due to how similar it would have looked like this by this artist. But other than that, this is the result.

I had never done a coiled type DiD sketch before so I decided not to have the Cobrat TOO tight around Peach (just enough to hold her firmly) but I still wanted to show stress marks of clothing a bit. I did have a couple references to try and emulate. I realize that Cobrats are not nearly as long as what I am making them out to be, but the sketch wouldn't have worked nearly as well if they were shorter unless I did a team effort, and I didn't want to go there.

As for the background, I borrowed heavily from Super Mario Brothers 2 in the the placement of objects, but I used references for the stonework and tried to create an atmosphere of what the Pyramids of Subcon would have looked like inside...obvious 8-bit and even 16-bit didn't really give us a whole lot of that back then.
