Collaboration art of conceptualized video game interactive Continue screen - Photoshop line art and color.

--Princess Peach and Princess Daisy, already having lost all of their lives, are thrown into a nasty death trap by their adversaries.  Taped and and foot and on a conveyor belt constantly moving them backwards towards a waiting thwomp, all could be lost...but there is an off lever for the conveyor belt ahead of them.  With hopping their only chance to avoid a pressing engagement, they need help for at least one of them to make it to the switch and turn off the conveyor belt before time runs out and it overtakes them.  Mash that hopping button and help them both to CONTINUE...or else...

Coloring notes:

I converted most of the line art to colored line art, after playing around with both ways...I left black line art for a few things, and for the very old school icons at the top. 

Princess Peach:  Cel shaded most of her gown, hair, and features, and left highlights only for the tape and the crown.

Princess Daisy:  Same as above, albeit a bit more detail since she is doing better than Peach at progressing and therefore is closer to the viewer in the pic.

Scene:  Gave the Thwomp some pattern stamp definition along with shading, and gave the Podoboos mostly highlighting with only a bit of shading on the bottoms.  Pattern stamped the conveyor belt and part of the mechanism, added shading, and then lightened and darkened the lava to try for bubbly steam rising.  Pattern stamped and used a gradient on the background walls, and likewise for the corner pillar.

Also used some plastic wrap type filter to make the icons and the Continue lettering looks more like from Super Mario 3D world, which combines both 2D and 3D art styles.  I used a Super Mario type font as a reference for the shapes of the lettering.

This completes the first part of a collaboration between myself and , whose standards and art levels are pretty high and so I hope I was up to the challenge.
